Once in a great while there occurs an event so beautiful and wonderful that historians make note of the phenomenon. Crescent Creek Bourbon is such a triumph. Distilled in small batches from 80% corn, 15% barley, and 5% wheat it has aged over a year in a charred American (Michigan) white oak barrel and has been handcrafted into a delicious full flavored whiskey. Savor the experience, you don’t know when you’ll find such a marvel again.

We distilled this batch of whiskey during the fall of 2017 and aged it in two brand new charred American white oak 15-gallon barrels. Because these barrel have more wood and air contact than the commonly used 53-gallon barrels, this whiskey aged around 4 times faster. Crescent Creek Bourbon Whiskey at 1 year old is the equivalent most other 4 year old whiskies.

The story behind the Crescent Creek name is also quite fascinating. You may have noticed a small creek running along the east of the distillery into the Grand River. Until recently this creek was unnamed and the former owners of Moonlight Industries across the road kept trying to figure out how to name it. Various government entities were contacted without success. Finally, they just installed a sign on the road saying Crescent Creek and the name stuck. The name now appears on official maps!
